But now shrinks the place where you stand: Where now, stripped by shade, will you go? — Paul Celan

Diffusion

A green ocean
An awareness adrift on its waves, a disciple of silence,
Dissolving

At nightfall —
the stars are reflected on the inky blackness of the water
And the boundary between water and sky dissolves too
The two infinities become one undulating field of stars

Your being dissolves in it too
But now vertically
between the sky and the deep —
Like an inkblot that slowly, symmetrically spreads on absorbent paper

Until it’s diffused so thin that

It disappears completely
